. a lot of our transactions are coming from the international environment. buyers from brazil, buyers from europe in general. it is definitely helping the florida market. i would say a large percentage. a lot of these deals are coming from people migrating from colder climates. i have a lot of snowbirds coming down here. florida is looking more and more attractive. regard to the luxury market, it is doing extremely well. of course, you do not have the obstacle you have in the lower-priced market because you have a lot of cash buyers. a lot of people who continue to have money. that way you are continuing to see a lot of these bidding wars. dagen: i have heard stories. i have heard stories in terms of miami, particularly. the condo hotels became a very tricky proposition when the financing dried out. are you seeing some of the financing come back for those properties? >> not specifically. a lot of developers are staying away from those properties. i have seen many developers planning new projects. the condo hotel market has really not revamped the same way. you are just being straight up co

? the academy does not prepare you for that. i take that experience and i realized in the gang environment, most of these youths are coming from single- family households. in the area where the gang violence is most prevalent, great citizens of the community, 99% of those citizens are afraid. as a prosecutor, i take this experience and figure out how i want to enforce gang violence, especially in san francisco. i break it down into three categories. you have the individual who is not fully immersed in the gang lifestyle. he is just an associate comment just hanging out. -- associates, just hanging out. for that individual, we try to work with community-based programs. i've met with dcyf, the african- american steering committee, people haven't been in this violence and i say to them, what can -- people have been in this violence, and i say to them, what can we do to make sure if this individual does not go to prison? for that individual, we try to find a way to keep him out of the prison sentence. then you have the second individual, the individual who does crimes not for economic means, but for

to reduce the infrastructure's impact upon the environment. on the front lines of protecting the beaches, are the crews that clean out the stormwater system. man: this big vactor truck works on the same principle as your vacuum cleaner in your house, only this thing sucks up the whole house. some of the storm drains collect a lot of trash. i started cleaning drains in '93. they were horrible because they hadn't been maintained so much. now this is a priority. you have trash, animal waste, and it ends up on our beaches. that is a health risk. that is one of the main reasons why we have to close the beaches after heavy rain. narrator: but even when it's not raining, water still enters the stormwater system, carrying pollutants. here on the west coast, a lot of our storm drain systems are separate from the sanitary sewer system, so if you dump something in the storm drain, it goes right to the ocean untreated. alamillo: we haven't had a major rainstorm in the last year or so yet there's a lot of water in this creek here. i would say 20% of it is natural and the other 80% is runoff. shapiro:
